Who we are
RiseHush (“we”) is an independent studio publishing the RiseHush app for Apple platforms and operating this website, risehush.com. For anything in this policy, write to support@risehush.com.
What stays on your device
Your quote library, favourites, streaks, reminders, alarms, themes, and settings are stored in local on-device stores. On the same device, the main app and its widgets may share their private App Group store. The App Clip keeps a dedicated local store; a favourite you save or invocation context you open there can be imported or handed off when you continue in the full app. Your paired Apple Watch keeps its own local data and transfers only selected payloads through Apple Watch connectivity. RiseHush has no accounts and keeps no cloud copy of this data. We cannot read it, and it is never transmitted to us.
Quote generation, explanation, and the Ask RiseHush concierge run on Apple's on-device Foundation Models. Prompts and results are processed on your device and are not sent to RiseHush or third parties. Availability follows Apple Intelligence on your device. When the model isn't available, RiseHush falls back to its curated library — gracefully, and still offline.
System permissions, only when needed
RiseHush asks for access only in context, when you use a feature that needs it. Depending on your device and the feature you choose, this can include Notifications, Siri, Alarms, Camera, Photos, Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, NFC, and Face ID. RiseHush does not request Location or Motion access. The microphone is used only when you choose to record a video background with sound. RiseHush does not listen passively or use speech recognition to infer health or mood. Permission status stays on your device, is never used for tracking, and is not uploaded to RiseHush.
The two optional network features
Online Images initially defaults to on on Mac and off on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Vision Pro. Your saved choice is always respected. When enabled, image searches are sent to Unsplash. You can turn Online Images off in Settings.
Support and privacy forms on this website: if you write to us, we receive what you typed — your name, email address, topic, and message — and use it only to reply. Submissions are processed by Netlify Forms, our website host's form service.
If you enable Online Images, RiseHush may send typed searches, built-in category searches, photo identifiers, image views, and download events to Unsplash so photography can be discovered and delivered. Unsplash may process a random device-count identifier, your IP address and IP-derived approximate location, device and request metadata, and service logs for app functionality and analytics, and may retain those records under its Privacy Policy and API Terms. RiseHush does not attach your private quotes, collections, account identity, or advertising identifier. Turning Online Images off stops new Unsplash requests; the bundled gallery and your Photo Library remain available.
Online Images search, photo-detail, and download-event API requests use the first-party risehush.com endpoint hosted by Netlify. After that proxy returns the Unsplash image URL and attribution metadata, the image itself loads directly from Unsplash. This preserves Unsplash hotlinking and the photographer and source attribution required by the service.
RiseHush has no account system and does not keep your searches as an account history. During transit, RiseHush and Netlify infrastructure may process your IP address and IP-derived approximate location, device and request metadata, and short-lived service and security logs. RiseHush does not attach an account identity, advertising identifier, or your private quotes or collections.
How our providers protect data
RiseHush only uses third parties whose terms, safeguards, and configured controls provide the same or equivalent protection described in this policy and required by applicable law. We limit data to the disclosed purpose and do not authorize providers to use it for advertising or unrelated purposes. If a provider cannot meet that standard, we stop sending it data.
How long we keep limited data
Support correspondence is kept for up to 24 months after our last reply so we can handle follow-up issues, then deleted unless law requires longer. A Netlify Forms copy of a privacy request is deleted within 30 days after the request is closed, unless law requires longer. When you accept website analytics, GA4 keeps event data only for the period set in the property's retention controls and deletes it automatically when that period expires. Withdrawing consent stops new collection and clears Google Analytics cookies; it does not retroactively erase aggregated reports.
Newsletter
If you subscribe in the website footer, we collect only the email address you submit. Subscription is voluntary and based on your consent. We use the address only for occasional RiseHush editorial notes and material product news — never for advertising profiles, rented lists, or sale to another company.
Netlify Forms receives and stores the signup as our form-processing provider. No newsletter has been sent and we have not appointed an email-sending provider, so subscribed addresses remain dormant in Netlify Forms and are not exported to a mailing platform. We will name the sending provider and describe any relevant international processing here before the first message is sent.
Every newsletter will include a clear unsubscribe link. You may withdraw consent before the first message, or later, by writing to support@risehush.com; we will remove the address from the subscriber list. You may also request access, correction, or deletion through Privacy Choices. We retain the address only while the subscription remains active or as briefly as needed to document and honour an unsubscribe request.
What the App Store privacy label covers
Because optional features can touch the network, our App Store disclosure honestly lists these categories as data that may be linked to you and is not used for tracking: Search History (image searches when Online Images is on), Product Interaction, Coarse Location (region-level, as part of standard service requests), Device ID, and Other Data Types. RiseHush does not use this data for advertising and does not track you across apps or websites.
Website analytics — only after consent
This website uses Google Analytics (measurement ID G-ZTZKQD1HTZ) only after you explicitly allow it in the consent dialog. Until then, no analytics script loads. If you consent, we measure page views with advertising features, ad personalization, and Google signals disabled. Decline — or change your mind via “Manage analytics” in the footer — and analytics stays off, and any Google Analytics cookies are cleared.
What we never do
No advertising or ad SDKs. No sale of personal information and no sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising; disclosed service-provider processing is limited to its stated purpose. No third-party analytics inside the app. The microphone is used only when you choose to record a video background with sound. No speech recognition, no precise location. No data broker relationships. No dark patterns around consent.
Your rights
Because your app data lives on your device, you exercise most rights directly: deleting the app deletes your library. For the little we may hold from support correspondence, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete it via the Privacy Choices page or by writing to support@risehush.com. We answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA under GDPR, the UK, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional statutory rights; the mechanisms above are how you invoke them with us.
Children
RiseHush is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
When this policy changes, we update the date above and, for material changes, say so plainly on this page. Continued use after a change means the updated policy applies.
